18 000 abortions in 2007 for Belgium. This is the official number revealed by the third report of the evaluation Commission of the law that legalized abortion. The same Commission underlines that “reading the reports (of the hospitals' planning-centers ) shows that the choice for a voluntary pregnancy interruption is often dictated by a precarious social and economical situation or some cultural pressure. If they would have had the possibility, women would have carried (the child) to full term.”
We desire to express our solidarity with and compassion for those women who have been forced to abort. We also want to lend our voice to the unborn children that have been sacrificed. That is why we organise the first national March for Life in Brussels. The March is peaceful, silent, apolitical and pluralistic. It is an initiative of young university students from all over the country, exactly 20 years after the law “Lallemand-Michielsen” has been voted.
See you on sunday, March 28th, 2010 at 2:30 PM for our March for Life in Brussels, Royal Square.
